1934 Singer 15-91
This beautiful vintage sewing machine is a 1934 Singer 15-91. The machine folds down into the cabinet. It is electric and operated with a knee lever.
This machine was loaned to my mom by my godmother sometime in the 1990s. It belonged to my godmother’s grandma and had traveled from Alabama to Colorado with her. It found a home in my mom's dining room. I used to hide inside the cabinet as a child. I don't remember ever seeing my mom use it for sewing.
When I moved to Fort Collins for college my mom sent it with me. I cleaned the machine, oiled it, and put it to work. I made clothes, a quilt (that I never finished,) and many art projects with this machine.
These machines were mass produced and were built to last. This machine still runs strong although I haven't used it in over a decade. They don't have a lot of value other than sentimental value. As my first vintage machine coming from my godmother's grandmother, it has high value to me. Look for it in the corner of my fitting room.
